About Mandarin First

Who are we?
Mandarin First was founded in Tainan in 2017. Each year we bring students from around the world into Taiwanese classrooms and homes. We are part of GOSTUDY Education Group, in international education since 2002 across study abroad, language programs, and overseas employment.
A Word from Our Founder
— Learning Was Never Meant to Look Just One Way

The education we grew up with meant memorizing textbooks and writing the “correct” answer on an exam, with a single number deciding everything. Yet every one of us is unique — so can one standard, shaping us all, really help us become who we want to be?
International education gave me the answer. It freed me from being defined by test scores and taught me to appreciate who I am. And because I once left home to study in an unfamiliar country myself, I understand the students who come to Taiwan — the nervousness, the courage, and the moment the language finally clicks.
That is why we founded Mandarin First. Our aim is not simply to teach students to speak Mandarin, but to give every international student who comes to Taiwan a place — in our classrooms and host families — to find a stage of their own. And Taiwan can be that place.
